Title: How important is overuped gear?

Just how much does it matter? how much of a difference does that +3 or +4 extra make?
And is it usually worth the cost to buy overuped gear instead of regular gear?

+4 is the maximum safe limit on armors. There generally should be no price difference between +3 and +4 except for the Elunium cost.
It depends on how much money you're willing to shell out. Personally, all my gears are +4, and I perform well enough in the WoE situation. Versus monsters, I really see no difference. But if you do have the money, there isn't anything bad by getting overupped armors. Plus if you decide to slot cards into them, overupped armors generally have a higher and better resale value.

every upgrade gives you 3/4 raw defense 1 defense is equivalent to 1% damage reduction soo that extra +3 or 4 will help in the long run.. but if you're strapped for cash, you're better off just buying +4 items and reselling once u get rich ^__^

Depends on what your goals are really, if you want to get into pvp/WoE, it could definitely give you the potential edge you need to come out ahead, but for PvM, +4 gears are fine. If you play long enough anyways you'll eventually probably want to over up your gears for the hell of it, pvp/woe or not.

Extra defense or not, I really don't notice a substantial differance between overupped and non-overupped gears. But hey, maybe it's just me. Either way, I normally go for overupped equipment purely for the before stated fact of the resell value.

their is also some disadvantages on wearing overupped gears...like dealing with a sinx with ice pick.. and some other stuff.. ;)
