Hammers are not needed to refine a item.
Oris are only required for level 3-4 weapons. Emetreacon(however its spelled) is required for level and pharacon for level 1.
Armour is always the same level regardless of cost.- Always same refining rate as level 4 weapons without the 10% bonus.

I'm assuming that you don't have the right upgrading material.-refer to list of materials needed to upgrade weapons.
Is the weapon in inventory? Pretty sure it dosn't work if equipped.
 Either that or your glitched.

For blacksmith ranks, you only get points for creating weapons; not refining them. Naturally, level 4 weapon creation gives more points than a level 1 and so forth.

At level 70, the 10% plays a large role in breaking or success. But it depends on what your refining, level on weapons for example can be overupped to +7 without breaking. Level 4 weapons on the other hand have a chance of breaking from +4-+5-10.

If you +10 a level 3 Refined weapon you get more /blacksmith points. Job level 70 is only better for weapons when you use refine weapon skill, not for armors. Your luck is the same as any one else's with armor, however, there are rumors of methods you can do. But that's the fun of it all, the superstition.

What I know.If any of this info is wrong please correct me.
  • With a WS at job 70 you can refine at a better rate.
  • You need certain hammers to be able to refine.
  • You need Ori for weapons and Elu for armors.
  • Different Weapons and armors have Levels which make their refining rate different.

What i want to know.Only Answear if you know the answear. No guesses please. ^ ^

  • Why can't I refine sometimes and it shows "Skill Failed" When i try to refine?
  • When you type /blacksmith and those ranks come up did those people get there because they refined to a high rate and got points for it?
  • How much easier is it to make +10s at job 70. What is the % of failure?

u can't refine armor as a ws ><
it show skill fail either if ur weopon is already +10 or u dun have the item required to refine it...a hammer is not needed
