Title: Can Someone Tell Me the best shield for bs in niff?

can anyone tell me? some people say tirfing, some say khaltzburg and some say ancient mummy <-- lol

whats actually the best? may it be neither of em' i dont care.

I use tirfing because it reduces damage from all medium size monsters (which skellington is mostly made out of)

Khlitz only works if the monster uses a skill... all the monsters melee atks are normal

IDK about Ancient mummies.

sorry I meant only if Dullhans used their special atk... and one other monster but I forget...

again their atks are mostly neutral unless they cast

BTW I'm assuming that when you say niff you mean skellington valley...  Sheild cards for valley of gnol (loli area) is different

well, its best if you change ur title to what card in a shield is best for a bs in niff....but a buckler would be better because of more def, also tirfing in the buckler would help out alot more

dulla rarely uses his skill... and if you mob good enough.,.. chances are you'll probably never get hit by it.

Khalitz reduces damage from demon monsters, meaning it'll reduce their damage whether they hit normally or uses skills. Dullahans are undead, which means khalitz is ineffective against them.

how much is terf armor again?

I say this cause I wanna buy smm laterz on...
and which monsters there are "medium"

and this works on players too right? if so w00 w00! that'll double as pvp/woe shield xD



and does that -25% dmg include their skills?

Tirfing card goes on a shield only. The card cost around 10 mil. Anywhere higher than that is overpriced and I wouldn't recommend you buying that.

Disguise and Dullahans are the only medium monsters there, but the tirfing is mostly to reduce the damage from dullahans. Disguise doesn't inflict that much damage on you.

Yes. It works in pvp as well because all demi-humans (players) are considered medium size, with the exception of a knight/crusader on a peco (large size) and a baby char (small size). The 25% reduction works on skills as well. Most people would go with a cranial or a toad for more reduction though, if you had the money to spare that is.

AND I HATE WHEN VENDORS DO THAT!, just up it another 1z  >.<

If you want to get a tirfing your better of buying 10 ads for 8 - 8.5 mil and buying it that way.
The only reason they cost so much is that back on anima you had to do a spend credit request to buy them, and alot of people though it was un-donatable for, so they thought the card was dropped from the monster Tirfing (called Ogretooth on this server), which spawns in geffenia.

Seriously, Khalitz is about as good as tirfing. It's a tossup, with Tirfing being more expensive, but usable in PvP/WoE

I would still say tirfing if you plan to use it with other chars in other maps that have medium monster...

Umm someone remind me, is Khalitz good in Prison and churchyard and ancient mummies

also works with High Orcs

Overall Tirifing is the most versatile PvM shield card there is. There are racial reduction cards for jsut about every race in the game, so you can get the ncie 30% reduction anywhere by swapping shields and hunting multiple different cards. Tirifing however works on most monsters on PvM sicne majority of monsters are medium sized, no need to swap shield or buy dozens of different racai lreduction cards to get a reduction. I'd go for tirifing solely due to the versatility of the card.

I say GTB in niff, especially if you're a BS

Allows usage of a Garm armor to take less dmg, and prevents stone curse, Confusion, and all other status's that could be inflicted.

I wouldn't use GTB.  Nice priests can't heal/bless you, and you can't run through their sanctuary.  Also, you use up enough SP as it is without GTB.

I like Ancient Mummy because it works well with Disguise card armor.  You need to let the mob hit you once in a while to let Disguise card silence them and if Ancient Mummy then autocasts Signum Crucis you get to beat the snot out of the mob that has a bit less defence.

Once you get Spring Rabbit Clip, the 40% reduction from Khalitzburg isn't really that important anymore.

look at it this way.. khalitz reduces all dmg from demon class monsters by 30%....that doesnt say that is only from skill attacks.....in skellington....alll monsters except for dullahan are all demon monsters which means khalitz works nice....as for tirfing....it says 25% medium size mosnters atleast thats what i know...not all mosnters in skellignton are medium sized and as such less ineffective...tirfing costs more than khalitz but if u do the math khalitz is better for skellington...if u want a shield for pvp...go uy a thara frog instead of stayign with tirfing since its better and mroe effective against demi humans...in the end....if u only want 1 shield go for tirfing...if u switch shields like me,go for khalitz....its better and cheaper....some people say differently...i have a nice experience with khalitz and i would never change it for an overpriced tirfing as i would never need 1.
