Weakening a pet monster before using an item doesn't increase the chances of catching it,does it?

Weakening a tameable monster to as low as hp as possible (at least get them down below 50%) may increase capture rate up to twice the normal percentage.
However when it comes to Alice and Zealotus, where their capture rate is the lowest, the luck factor (real life luck) accounts more than beating them down into submission.

if you want you can catch poring,drops and lunatic their easy to catch tho

and their cute /ok

and yup you need also have real life luck on clicking.....

Seriously. The chances of capturing one successfully is dependent on how weak the monster is.
The weaker the better /no1

Seriously. The chances of capturing one successfully is dependent on how weak the monster is.

sleep them, stone curse them, stun them, wont matter.
having them to a lower hp value is the best way to do it.

im planning on testing this reduce-the-monster's-hp trick later on deviruchis and bapho jrs
i think i lost two deviruchis already..(in addition to other pets..)/sob  /swt

Sorry if this is thread necromancy, but since this thread is already here...

I'm having trouble with capturing an Isis (well, two, actually -- a friend of mine lost his, and I want one, too).  Any tips on trying to capture a tameable monster, besides just weaken it?  Also, does the LUK stat play a role, or is it just completely random?

It's kind of frustrating...  If I just wanted to kill them, that's easy enough.  /sigh

I dont think Luk does anything for pets either.

I think its irl luck just like card drops and such.

Maybe Im wrong xD

I still remember capturing my first Alice, bought over a million zeny's worth of tames just to get her.

Or you could be extremely lucky, like summoning Zealotus in town, and while it still has full hp, capture it with only *one* Forbidden Red Candle on hand (that actually happened).

That would be extremely lucky, since the chance for capture is the lowest I've seen on the ROEmpire listings.  /...

Edit:  I DID IT!  Not only that, but I managed to get two of them!  Whee!  (does happy dance)
