Title: Weapon for soul linker?

What is the best weapon for soul linker?? Currently, I'm using arc wand and I don't feel strong enough like other soul linkers.

Most SL use daggers. (i.e. main gauche)

Dagger of counter Is my Personal Favorite.
With bairly Any luck, you can reach 99 Crit easily.

I usually carry a DoC, and a poison knife, And I survive Well in Forest/Public.

Unless you're in a melee build, I wouldn't use daggers. If you are, dagger of counter works well and isn't that expensive. Poison knife is awesome. Main gauche is only useful if you card it.

And if you're leveling by esma, any good rod (arc wand is fine) works. ;|

A dddDrake Rod is also kinda neat for leveling in certain places with alot of Water (Really fast Job levels at leafcats)
And its not bad in PvP (Colli) However if you're getting it just for your linker, it may be a waste of money.

 There is no such thing as "the best" weapon.
Most weapons are situational and will be swapped off quite often.
Also, in some sl builds; no weapon is needed. Unless your trying to get more hp.

For Pvp/Woe
 If you can't afford a ddxx weapon, try x4 status main gaunches/poison knife with a marine sphere clip.
Doc works does mediocre damage in pvp against some people. Fails in Woe though due to excessive use of potions.

For Pvm/Pve (player vs environment)
 Buy a quad dex rod or dex survivor rod.
Survivor rods offer 350-400 hp over a normal rod but cost around 500k more.
Both give the same amount of dex.
You could also go melee but its much much more expensive.

i have a lvl 95/50/50 soul linker and i dont use it in pvp so my one and only weapon  i use is quad dex rod for IC purposes in links and ESMA!!!!

 I'm not sure what your asking.
Esma only works after casting estin or estun. It will not work after casting magnum break.
Nor does esma work with baphomet card, its a single target spell.

 Magnum break is useful with a status dagger as it can afflict several players at once with that certain status.
It is not useful in pvm/pve as there is a large delay and does very low damage.

It is useful in pvp/woe as statuses such as curse are annoying to many classes. Magnum break can also knock a stalker out of chasewalk and a assassin out of cloak. Nothing beats having something like a grim reaper floating over your head that clearly marks position while trying to sneak to the emperium.

and if they can't afford a DDAA they can afford a gryph valk and gyph mid right? :/
of course something like DDTS or such would be better combo'd with 2x gryph than DDAA (depends what you're going to use as str kinda). Could just mix and go gryph mid DDAA and kahos :P
Either way fast crit (hence ddxx>doc) with WW= pwnage.

Lol I was thinking that magnum break is a passive skill like double attack and will enable when I'm doing the esma :D

 Lug, thats why a linker can hit near 100 critical with a Doc and no gryphon headgears or points invested into luck.
I was thinking along the lines of a gryph valk+gryph midheadgear+meg+DDTT for a critical build.
Though thats a loss of both 10% cast reduction from a possible Di and 20 dex from kahos.

Trying to have a decent cast time while retaining mediocre damage output and getting rid of the 20mdef from kahos in the process.
Then again, wouldn't a 5% demi-human resistance be close to a base of 20mdef?

 Edit- Mei, no problem.
Buy a gakkunk bow from the payon weapon store. Get a bunch of fire arrows and traps; then have fun at a sting map.
Ankle snare+Double straft at stings gives decent exp and a nice income.

How much Doc is usually cost???

Like many other people in this thread have said, its close to 100%, but not 100%.

 Docs usually cost 200k-400k.
Critical damage is only defense piercing. Every critical attack also equals 1.5x your normal melee (based on strength) damage from what I remember.
Most likely wrong though.

 The attack speed is very slow and its not worth using outside of pvp where potting is frowned upon.

This is assuming he/she feels like whacking people in pvp.

 For Pvm, like you/other people have said. A dex rod/survivor rod or ddxx weapon(which she/he most likely cannot afford) would probably be the best possible weapon to use.

Wait a minute, so Doc doesn't affect the damage of esma! and I'm not pvp type of person but I just want to lvl with best possible equipment.

I'm telling you, arc wand is fine for PvM. You don't even need a weapon for PvM with esma. Your other best bet could be quad dex rod, though. I use that, and it works wonderfully. Any rods mages can equip, linkers can (save for SQI).

I'm telling you, arc wand is fine for PvM. You don't even need a weapon for PvM with esma. Your other best bet could be quad dex rod, though. I use that, and it works wonderfully. Any rods mages can equip, linkers can (save for SQI).

I need ur opinion rit now. Which one do u like the best, arc wand or quad dex rod??

i prefer to use the dex survivors rod because it gives extra 400hp ;D

well i had quad dex rod and dex surv rod b4 but i sold the dex surv. rod doesnt really matter with +400hp, that wont save u if ur about to die anyway....what helps is wearing DL sleips which i let my linker use.saves a lot from deaths considering u buff urself and all that, and know hot to play a linker in PVM or for Mvp's.
