About the lagging/DC, if you have way too many mobs (monsters / plants), and too many skill visual/animation, chances are you'll DC.
I know when I used to gm on a different server, mass skills on a huge mob would hit the whole server off. Probably a host issue, or a derp moment.What does this have to do with beta testing our new client?

I assume it involves a champ mobbing and then killing the whole map at once with something else(Magnus? Ifrit Rings/pirate dagger/mjol combo?). I've done this back when prison was full of people. Lag them into getting themselves killed. CY is way bigger than prison so I'm guessing more monsters would cause the disconnects.

Because the sign up is OPEN. Tomorrow it will be changed to CLOSED. Also, if this were a Closed Beta test (in the terms you are thinking of) there wouldn't be an announcement for it and I would just be secretly inviting people. Not unlike the last beta test where a select few were invited.
