Ahoy, 2015!
The weather's still plenty frightful, but no worries!  To help keep everyone warm and cozy, we've released several fashionable new winter headge—wait, what the...?

A Mysterious Puddle!

prontera 155, 128
W-WHERE'D ALL THIS WATER COME FROM?!
It must have been those pesky Snow Rabbits that have been popping up around Prontera Field lately!

I've seen them hopping around as if they own the place, throwing those blasted snowballs everywhere, starting fights, and just raising a ruckus!  Mind helping us clean up?  You can start with this puddle in Prontera.  Maybe when you're done, you can help investigate the growing Snow Rabbit population, too.
  • Examine the puddle in Prontera to begin.
  • The quest log [Alt+U] will help display your reward progress.
  • The more you help before accepting any rewards, the more it will improve your odds of getting something good!
  • Repeatable!
Event Spoilers:
  • Puddle will only accept donations when in "puddle" form.
  • Puddle will only distribute rewards when not in puddle form.
  • The odds of receiving an Old Frozen Box improve with each quest level, capping at 95%.
  • The odds of receiving a Gift Box or Old Purple Box disappear at the maximum quest level.
  • Quest level progress will begin anew once you accept a reward.
  • New adventurers who aren't yet confident in their strength are advised to make snowballs in Lutie and Farvir.
  • In case of crowding, Arvren is also an option. However, its snow takes significantly more time to regenerate.
  • Snow Bunnies roam Lutie, Farvir, Prontera's surrounding fields, Lutie Field, and Farvir's south and east fields.
  • Strong adventurers are encouraged to hunt the tricky Snow Rabbits in the fields for chances at a rarer reward.

Donation Bonus Extension
The 20% donation bonus has been extended by one week and will now end on Sunday, January 25, 2015.  Xmas Box sales and the Christmas event will still end on the 18th.  Best Served Cold, A Very Kafra Christmas, and Xmas Box sales have also been extended and will end on the 25th.  The Santa Poring, Caroling Quartet, and Old Man from Prontera have been removed.

January 25 is also the date that Bob (http://www.anesisro.com/forums/index.php/topic,124408.0.html) has chosen to leave Prontera and continue his own adventures.  Be sure to wish him safe travels!

Castle Rotation
Reminder:  The standard War of Emperium castles Yuno 2 and Rachel 2 were replaced by Prontera 1 and Prontera 3 Sunday evening.  The Elite Warp Clip was updated to reflect this change.  WoE 2.0 content will be temporarily unavailable until new arrangements have been made.

Item Shop Updates
Please pardon our mess!  We're working on reintroducing more items to the website item shop for variety and convenience and didn't mean for the first few additions to be alarming.  More items will show up in both the item shop and our announcements as time passes.

The quest log [Alt+U] will help display your reward progress.
This doesn't work for me, but seems to work for other people in game. Is there a fix for this? I run the patcher and all >:

I might actually just be stupid.

Double post, but only because no one else has replied.

I really like this event. So far I have no criticisms, and am enjoying myself very much. Kudos, and great job.

Nice to see people enjoying the event!

Just wanted to let people know that if they see any control panel errors or item shop errors (invalid sprite, any items missing pictures (big or small), or valkyrie helms when
the item you're equipped with isn't a valkyrie helm) let me know what item either via PM, or post a message in Tech Support, and I'll try to fix it when I can.

There is an overlap.  This event started before the previous one ended.  :)

Also, both that quest and the Kafra part of the event will be sticking around a bit longer, so good luck completing it!

I really like this event. So far I have no criticisms, and am enjoying myself very much. Kudos, and great job.

Felt the need to better explain why I like this event so much, because I would love to see events like this in the future:

1. The quest is doable by all classes, at all levels. Obviously better geared people have a better opportunity, but low levels are able to participate.
2. The quest is repeatable. Personally, I love repeatable quests like this. You know exactly what you need to do, and it's simple, but fun.
3. It's "timed." On a busy night, the snowman procs and melts on a fairly quick cycle, that you can rush to collect snowballs from. It's really fun because if you can't get all 200, you have to choose between a lesser chance, or skipping and getting the guarantee.
4. Monsters drop more than 1 of the item, and the collection isn't outrageous. It's nice to think you're actually making progress.
5. The prizes are nice. Headgears are always interesting, but there are some rare ones, like the snowman hat [1] that drops Buche De Noel, and the service ticket, that are worth a good chunk of Zeny, and make it worth it to stick it out even after getting a few headgears.

My only suggestions for future events like this:
1. Make all monsters in game (if possible and not too much work) drop a single snowball at a random chance (say, 10-25% chance). That way, people can sort of participate, while still doing other things.
2. slightly increase the chance for better prizes. Seems like that wouldn't be too difficult to do, and shouldn't be too OP, with the slow rate I've seen people in game actually get these items (could be based on my perception, which might just be unlucky in terms of how few people I've seen get snowman hats and service tickets.)

I've waited for 4 hours and Mr puddle is still in water form. has been waiting for it to be in snowman form to get my reward. Is it normal for Mr puddle to stay in 1 form for so long?

Well never mind. Just as i finished posted this reply, it changed form. Now I don't know how long I've to wait for him to change form again so I can feed him snowball...If it has a fixed timing for changing, that will be sweet.

He changes into a snowman depending on how many snowballs he receives. If it was just you giving him snowballs, then it would take longer. He changes from snowman to puddle every 30 minutes

No wonder it was much faster at the beginning comparing now. Guess everyone is done with it. Well I'll have to feed him more snowball then.

Feed the Snowballs to the Snowman on multiple Characters and you'll get more than 1 Old Frozen Box rather than going over "Maximum" with just 1 Reward. You'll also cap it so it turns back to a Snowman faster rather than waiting for others to Add more.

That is one fine idea. Thanks for the info.

The Vend Browser has been updated, so new items up until this point shouldn't be blank anymore.
