Title: @autoloot and @alootid commands
Post by: Linus on August 11, 2014, 02:24:24 am
Players can now use @autoloot and @alootid commands.
@autoloot <percent> - Automatically picks up any item with drop rate less than or equal to the percent provided, for any monster you kill. The percent is optional and if no percent is provided, it will default to 100% meaning your character will pickup every item a monster drops. Using the command again will turn auto loot off.
@alootid <item id> - Automatically picks up only the items you specify. Make sure @autoloot is off before using this command or autoloot will take priority and your character will pickup everything. This command can not be used to "customize" autoloot, it is a completely separate command. Say you go on a Poring slaughtering spree and only want the Jellopies, and not the Applies or Bottles. Make sure @autoloot is off, then do @alootid 909 Where 909 is the Jellopy ID number. Most item IDs can be found on www.ratemyserver.net (http://www.ratemyserver.net) You may use the @alootid command multiple times with different item numbers to create a "list" of items to pick up.
Autoloot WILL pickup cards, this has been tested and confirmed.

Mixed feelings about this..but it's still awesome! To disable @alootid do you need to type it again or just use @autoloot to disable it?
Also if it's not too much trouble could you explain your reasoning behind ranking it? (Besides the "new leader new rules" thing, I'd like to hear your actual opinions and reasoning. If not that's perfectly fine.

Great addition. It was long due /no1 Would be nice though if there was a way for @autoloot to not work in case of MVPs or atleast make it only work if the player is in the screen of the killed monster (There is a code available for this at eA forums).
Most Players especially new players dont give 2 hoots about smiths and greed. They take @autoloot for granted. They expect it on every server they go to. Not having @autoloot worked well when the server had thousands of peeps. But as of now this server needs new players. Competing with other servers with such a massive handicap isn't the best of ways to go. Also if i love a Knight - I would like to play a Knight - I should not be forced to play a smith for zeny compulsions.
That being said, Smiths are still a formidable melee class. Their true strengths were never intended to be farming but flooring people in War. And even for farming they are still a class with a cart - highest carrying capabilities. It is unfair to simply associate Smiths with greed alone.

The age of afk farming has begun.
Cool update for new peeps at least.

Yeah, I feel a bit mixed about this feature, too. I mean...I've had past experiences with other RO servers that had it, but here it's kind of...I don't know.
It is unfair to simply associate Smiths with greed alone.
Agreed. They are still great for say...overpricing things to sales NPCS and party buffs for melee classes.

Smiths can discount, overcharge, repair weapons/armors, upgrade with a higher chance than the NPC, they're good in PvP/Wars, can break weapons/armors, they have a cart and can carry a LOT more than other classes.
Smiths still have a use.

In my experience with @autoloot elsewhere, when any monster dies, MVP or otherwise, the loots are magically zapped to the person who took the most HP in damage so long as they are still on the map. Kinda like when you get exp from a monster that you hit 5 min ago but had to tele before you could kill it then lost it so you forgot about it until you were sitting and then you suddenly lvled up even though you weren't doing anything and you werent in a party then youre like "oh yeah, someone must have finished off that zombie for me...cool." Except its a jellopy.

Yeah, I've been in that exact situation lol! Depending on how much damage you've dealt anyway, otherwise it'd go to the person who dealt the most damage(like the MVP title.)

This is what we are working on. When you go afk you will no longer be able to get items, just like with EXP.
As far as WS's not being useful, the problem is that you were forced to use them. I plan on adding items to the forging list in the near future. I also plan on opening a discussion on backpack, so that we can have some options. Like possibly having auto loot only work on rare item while we have the backpack for Greed effect.
In the end I felt that this was a much needed change to bring in new players. We need to adapt improvise and overcome. Without doing those things we will die! I have played many servers and heard about several that offer many things I wish ARO had, I'm talking successful servers that slowly added the things the majority of the players wanted and in the end the results were amazing!

Right on; was hoping there'd be some way of limiting that exploitation.

To me, this is a cool thing. I understand it gets a luke-warm reception, but when other servers feature it and we do not, then it is a giant problem. Here is to a positive future for anesisro!!!!

Just a question will it really be that big of an exploit? I mean I can see how it seems it could be abused, but you aren't going to make nearly the money you would actually farming it. Now I get the part where your afk doing absolutely nothing but what about an alchemist leveling his homunc? The best way to level him is pretty much to sit there and do nothing does that mean he as well can not collect the loots or will it be fine for that cause people will gripe either way. In my own opinion on the matter every time someone gripes about these changes it makes someone lose interest in the game and I'd rather a hundred noobs make 1 billion zeny and the server population actually grow then to see it go down cause of the grind. Lets face it we have so many MOBA games that give the same effect as a 1 year term at least on RO, in literally an hour.

Yea, making money afk would be seen as an exploit in most peoples' eyes.
As for alchemist; I'd believe that's the.. easiest way to level. Best might be taking it too far as far as exp/time goes.
I'd assume they'd either have to get up from their lazyboy from watching MTV, go click the mouse once evert (insert time here for refreshing autoloot limitation), then go back to their lazyboy. (Which I bet is what quite a few people will be doing.. w/ multiple clients running).
Orrrr alchemist gets a break since most will lvl afk, won't have any limitation on autoloot.. thus we'll see a lot of alchemist's afk in various dungeons all over the place.
I'm not against autoloot.. i just expect some tom-foolery to happen lmao.

Well I went and tested it as soon as the exp goes away from being afk so does autoloot and the second you break the afk exp the autoloot picks right back up. So it's not broken because you can't afk at all to do it so you still have to do the old fashion farming anyways. :D

This is really what I came back to. I don't know if I can play with this being added. Hopefully this will bring new players but I will not be a part of it sadly.
