I'm a few days late, so you're probably already first job, but i'll offer my usual advice just in case.
Do the newbie quests from the NPCs outside Payon dungeon if you haven't already, and i'd recommend getting to at least base level 30 (though i usually go to 40) before doing the job quest to change to your first job. The extra levels will really help you when you can't wear the awesome almost-free novice gears anymore, and doing the quest will let you get a special weapon that gives you some nice bonuses including more exp! If you've already done all that, great! If you did some things differently, no worries. But keep this in mind for your next character and it will make your life easier. ^^
