Title: Attack Speed
Post by: MysticJhn on June 04, 2013, 10:57:48 am
Is there a maximum and what is it if there is?

190 ASPD is the Max

190 ASPD is the Max

Thanks, that's good to know.
Weird number, though.
I would have assumed it was 200.
lol, I mean if you're going to go to 190, you might as well.

That difference between 190 and 200 would be godlike.

The basic yet incomplete formula for hits per second if I recall is 50/ASPD Delay. ASPD delay is 200-ASPD.

So 190 is 5 hits a second. 200 would be what... No delay? Which would crash the server. Infinate loop.

On my phone and don't really know the formulas, but that should be the basic ide. Correct me if I am wrong.

Edit: Sorry, that's the basic formula for hits per second not attack speed.

Its pretty much that, 200 aspd would likely break the server. That or players will just do one attack per tick, which is to say, fucking fast.

So a 200 attack speed would be a constant stream of attacks until whatever you hit died with no space in between?

If the programming is something like attack -> delay -> attack -> delay, then you would attack at the rate it took the program to execute the attack, without delay.

So it would basically give you however fast the computer can computer x amount of attacks while you attacked.

200 though is likely not a valid entry.

I don't think it would necessarily crash the server, or kill anything, depending on how they programmed it.  Most stuff would likely instantly die, unless you did like, 1 damage against a monster with several million hp.  Then it would take however long the server takes to calculate an attack and damage however many times the monster has hp. (Which could still appear instantaneous if the computer calculates it fast enough.) It could bog down the server if everybody attacked something with high hp at the same time, as it would have quite a bit of data to flow through all at the same time.

(Hopefully I can post iRO Server Videos here, if not, delete this please?)

Ragnarok Online - Rune Knight 177 to 193 ASPD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1H8Gsv3oo0#)

Showing the difference a few aspd can make.

Some servers have 210 ASPD. It's pretty epic, you don't even move anymore, it's like you're in the attack position frozen with a random fast auto attack every few seconds. Of course you could use manual attack slowly and see how fast they are. But yes, it's ALOT of attacks.

Thing is that at 210 aspd (actually anything higher than 200) gives you a negative delay per attacks.
I dont thik the game does anything different between 200 and anything higher.
