Title: Need help fixing the lag for aRO on MY pc (i have no idea how to fix this T-T)

Okay well ,
Ive been experiencing lag very often after around 15/16th of january.
Before that it was completely lagless for me.
Since many people are saying it has to be your modem / internet . etc..
I decided to put up this question on how to fix this on my pc , since im no good at pc's ><
Any sort of help would be helpfull  :angel:

Well it seems from those that you're using the non-Aero scheme. What Video card do you have?

The Intel GMA is your card, which is integrated meaning you don't have one.

However you said it was fine before Jan 15.

A lot of other people having been lagging kind of badly, but anyway:

-Where are you located, statewise?
-What is your ISP (Comcast, Verizon) and what speed is it?

check the speed of your connection to one of the servers near Montreal. This may tell you something.

Ah forgot to put where i am located:

Location : United Kingdom
 
ISP : Router but i use the cable to connect it ~ linksys ~
     I just use internet explorer
                       
(Think thats what an ISP is xP)

Well, the server is located in Canada, so it COULD be your latency or ISP problems. Those underwater cables aren't perfect.

Anyway, try installing my MiniSetup to your RO folder:

And then run dyefire to start the game.

I tried it , cant seem to see any difference though.
I went mobbing in GH with my WS , but i still lagged when fighting .
Cant spam meat sometimes , the screen just freezes and goes back in like 2-3 secs . Sometimes even 6 secs

88ms
I used londons server (I live in coventry which is near birmingham)

I pinged London's server from here (Richmond, Virginia) and got a 224ms ping. That's insanely slow, especially compared to the 92ms ping I did on the Grand Forks, North Dakota Toronto, Ontario, Canada (the closest server on that site to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where the server is located). Therefore, it could simply be the server's locale compared to yours.

I did it from Coventry , England to Calgara , Canada
It is 180 ping for me.
But still , I did not lag before around 2 weeks ago.


Im gonna go sleep now.
I spent like 2 hours trying to mob but it looks like i definitely cant =.=
The lag stops me from healing  :'(

My ping is huge... Is that the reason I lag a lot now?

I had 116 ping to Vancouver though... /swt

could be. It's entirely possible. Remember, ping time is how long it takes for a packet to get there, and then be sent back. Your game is sending a lot of packets, but cannot advance until the receipt is sent back, and that's why there is lag and disconnects (DCs happen when your receipt packet hasn't gotten back to you before the timeout). So it could be causing lag for a lot of people.

yeah I figured as much...
There's no way to change the ping is there? Without actually physically moving closer to the server

Also, it may be a the network backbone SPECIFICALLY between you and the server location.

I was just wondering if any other europeons DON'T lag alot lately.
Because now i have no way of making money if this is carrying on and therefore quiting.

1 year ago i had 512 + 128 Mb on my RAM , and i could run animaro fine , i could duel client and swich from a char to an other(mean from client window to an other) with no lag at all , i did little break , and when i come back (i bought an other 512 , i'm using 512+512 MB) some thing strange ... i lag when i play with 2 client , i guess that can be in the PC configuration , well my suggestion , is fixing the registry ,  (reinstall all , it's not easy and not worth the try) . i guess the problem is n ur comp configuration ....

hmmm i see ,
you mean making the pc specs too good is making RO laggy? lol
(but thats duel clienting ~ my kind of lag freezes my screen for a short period of time , like maybe 2-4 secs then goes back to normal and then freezes again , etc.)

How much free space left do you have on ur HD ?, that can be the source of this problem.
