Title: GM Y U NO SEE REPORTS!!

Alright GMs! Will anyone of you care to come online and at least take care of the reports which are i guess pending for almost a month and violators playing without any warning or punishments? coz its really disappointing now! I dont know what you guys are busy in or what problems you have in life but guys you are running a server here which is somewhat dying slowly! you better start working on it!

and please dont lock this post without allowing it at least 24 hours for members to reply coz all the posts about GMs are locked as soon as a GM or a PR sees it!! Appreciate some criticism, its good once in a while!

There is a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. We are well aware of the time it takes to get through the amount of tickets we have, and we are well aware of the complaints about it. The staff are only human, I am sorry we can't sit here 24/7 waiting for you guys to have problems and make a report, but they are getting worked on as fast as they can.


And if the server is dying, it is because of attitudes like this. We are working on things as fast as humanly possible, to bring you new events, and permanent features and yet none of that seems to count lately.  We aren't dead yet, and we sure as well aren't sitting around doing nothing like everyone seems to think.  I could've spent my day off being lazy and instead I spent it with half the other staff on the test server testing new things, so I apologize if seeing posts like this really irritate me after putting in that much solid work yesterday

I don't think this topic is about tickets much. Rather it seems to be about the Reports section where harassment and killstealing reports have been ignored since about March/April.

Reports...tickets...I put them all in the same group since it is the same people who work on them and still requires the same amount of work in most cases /heh

Despite his tone, he does have a point. Seeing reports unanswered for almost half a year leaves a bad impression. It also means that rulebreakers pretty much can do whatever they want without getting punished. This not only leaves a bad impression on the forum but also creates a worse atmosphere ingame as no one gets punished.

I doubt that no one has had an hour of time to deal with the pending reports in there. Because that's really all it takes.

I know how it looks, and he does have a point same with any other thread about the same thing. Sadly, just wishing we could get things done faster isn't going to make it happen. The reports and tickets about the same things get worked on as quickly as they can. We DO take note of these threads and the complaints we get in game about similar things, and are trying as much as we can to get things moving faster.

I'm a player like rag expressing our concern, it just a dissatisfied expression. What's wrong with that? Yeah maybe he can wrote it in better way? Dunno, for me it's just fine criticism. Just imagine killers run havoc in your city and no police taken no action about it. Although it's free server, you guys also running a business here, and is it wrong if a costumer expressing their dissatisfaction? This place is like a store without manager, no offence but this is how i feel. Simple example, main chat filled with other language other than english, it happened alot recently and some same people posted it like often, no mute???

Note that I'm very loyal to this server. Whenever I tried any other games, whether it's RO or others, I always come back to this servers, even though I've better gears, community or whatever on other games. So with my kindly tone~ I think that you guys need more manpower, why not recruiting some more capable people that are active as rule enforcer or whatever you need? Instead of using excuse like human error, you should look at the business side more. More capable & active staff, more stability?

I'm not very often talking about this server since I think it just pointless. Usually all I care is as long as this server running & I can play, I don't have a problem. But since I love playing here, I think it's just my 2 cent.

I do understand that, I was a player for years before being staff. The problem with just hiring more people for that is the acess they get to be able to make those decisions and mute/punish people. There is a risk everytime you add someone new with those kind of responsibilities.

Oh my tone wasn't satisfactory? Well i humbly apologize for that.

Firstly, All i wanted to do was put my grievances in front of you, the GMs and PRs. Mostly the GMs, coz in the end they are the one who will be handling the reports.
 
Secondly, i totally agree with Trabalista when he said that you require more manpower. if not so, get just one more person who will handle just reports. I see you got just one GM for supports and reports, that would be GM Ryouki
another person to help him out would do good according to me and if you are worried about the exploitation of authority, why not just ask the new guy to atleast sort out the reports in different ways
For example, close the threads that are not worth it or dont have enough proof and forward the worthwhile ones to GM Ryouki. wouldnt that help? huh?

Just an advice, im sure advices are much more appreciated by you guys than criticisms
 
PS : i apologize again if you found my tone to be sort of un-satisfactory

If you guys are taking this long imagine how it would be with 500 players. I doubt we'll be seeing that number anytime soon but still. You guys seem to be understaffed even after hiring.

I would say it is not as much as we are understaffed,but more what raghavpuri said. We need to organize and sort the reports differently to make resolving them more efficient. Some of the new staff are being trained to handle reports, but are still under supervision so it hasn't gotten to the point where they can make a big dent yet.

/heh I go back to what I said before. We aren't perfect. We are working as fast as we can on a lot of things. Is there room for improvement? Of course. There always is. We don't have problems with people suggesting that or having ideas for fixing it. I personally DO Get extremely annoyed at the general tone in most of those posts. But like someone pointed out it is essentially a business. Thats why we have PRs who read these, and talk in game then go bug the appropriate GM.

As much as these topics suck, they do have some merit. People are getting curious, and frustrated when someone breaks a rule, and reports them. If I was a new player, the first thing I do is check reports and  Announcements.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply they have no merit! They do, it is feedback we need. In general the reason the topics get locked so quickly is because people can't give the feedback and stay civil. It is one thing to complain about something and another to tell us you have a problem, why its a problem and suggest ways to fix it. We may not use your particular suggestion but taking the time to be civil and thoughtful about it will get people a lot farther than just complaining.

all things considered, i think you guys are doing a decent job. i agree that more help is probably needed, but there are pros and cons with adding staff members, as Pandora mentioned.

anyhoo, i felt inspired to make this for Teh Staff... because yeah. ^^;

They just got rid of all the reports that had no case.
Now they have to do something about those others.
Then they need to clean out "Other Reports"
and they be almost done.
It took them 3 and a half hours to do 18 cases with a combination of 2 EVENT GMS and 1 PR
You guys really need a active gm on this.

Lol. If it takes threads like these to get them to go through reports, the least they can do is dedicate a specific date to go through them. Fuck all when that date comes! Reports become first priority. One specific day to tackle reports might be asking too much from the busy staff but its a start.  :)
