Title: homunculus MirAI questions
Post by: goldmind on February 13, 2012, 01:53:19 am
Decided to get back on Bio and level my Lif, and so I DL'd MirAI.
I'm very out-of-date with "what's allowed/not allowed" for the homunculus department. So, can someone give me a refresher? Also, what things are "enabled on MirAI but disabled on aRO" if there is such a thing? I have [Mir AI v1.2.2]. Thanks.
Also, if there is a better version for homunculus management, can someone pass me a link? Thank you.

Basically, auto aid potion and auto attack are the only ones that are disabled, since gravity believes that the alch/bio should be leveling with homun, rather than having the AI do all the work. Everything else works fine.

Actually their reasoning was that Mercs run on the same AI and they don't want other classes to auto-cast skills while their merc is out. Such as a Priest supporting a merc, or any other class essentially botting with auto-casting skills. They had no problem with alchs auto-pitching.
AzziAI is another good 1 I find, but I use that for merc/homunc in PvP/WoE more, MirAI imo is better for PvM

For PvE leveling I use mirAI however when I tried to get my vanil to stand behind me and cast bolts from ranged I had to use AriaFortis AI instead (well it was the only one other than mirAI I tried)
I found it was a faster way to level it like that with me tanking and spamming blue pots till it got strong enough to tank on its own. However it also cost me a small fortune in blue potions (used 3000 or so)

I didn't want to sit in low level maps. And I bet I was faster cause my epeen is bigger

As long as you know where to afk lvl, it'll take roughly 4~5 days to get to 99.

Not only can't you properly AFK cause you have to feed it every 20 minutes but I prefer to actively play the game. What's the point of playing if you're going to be afk anyway. lol weirdos.
Funny that in every topic when I help people someone always comes along and tries to troll me.
Now rolover: Play dead !!

I felt the need to when you spent 10m in blue pots to lvl a homunc, plus you can feed to 75 w/o losing intimacy so you can afk for hr+ at a time. Plus I'm providing my own info so those who are more inclined to afk can, you have your playing style I have mine, and I wouldn't call that trolling. ALSO, I have this thing called work and I'm sure most others do too or this other thing called school, some can afford to leave the comp on for 1 hr at a time so its being productive.
edit: not everyone has 10m to spend lvling a homunc either

because it's one of those things where you try to accomplish (getting a 99 evolved homun) throughout the game, and you get exp from them too! plus, it used to be easier to afk with auto attacks and auto aid. just feed it to 75~85 if you plan to afk for about an hour, or do the 20 min intervals, your choice.

1-3 Hate with Passion 4-10 Hate 11-100 Awkward 101-250 Shy 251-750 Neutral 750-910 Cordial 911-1000 Loyal
New Homunculus are born with 20 intimacy (Awkward).
So to get it to loyal You'll need to feed it 891 times. If you don't prolong it by stuffing it like you suggest. Now you can get 1 point every 10 minutes. So it will take 8910 minutes (145.5h of gaming time) to get it to loyal if you feed it properly. Now if you wish you can screw that up and overfeed it to prolong the process. Personally I think that would be a very bad idea but to each his own.
Oh and I don't know where you got the number 10m from I didn't actually buy blue potions I made them from blue herbs I had but yeah It wasn't the most economical solution but it sure made the leveling more fun cause I actually had to interact with the game. (tanking, healing myself and pitching blue pots to the homun).
Anyway I'm not trying to start a war here if you want to AFK that's fine I just hate waiting for stuff so I'd rather play actively.
This is going quite a bit off topic now so I'll stop posting here. I hope we managed to answer the OP question anyway.

Would you mind uploading AriaFortis AI? The original file was uploaded on megaupload....

Ow! Yes of course! Keep in mind though it's not a very good AI imo. I only used it cause mirAI refused to let my vanil shoot spells from a distance (and keep that distance). It always ran(?) up to melee range to use the bolts no matter how I tried to set it.
I struggled a bit with this one too but I found I could at the very least PARK my homun on one square and it would stay there and cast bolts from that place till I told it to move.
Once my vanil was strong enough for the map I used mirAI.

Nice. I hope this one has auto-casting Mental Change for my Lif. It's a pain when the AI already casts Emergency Avoid and I won't be able to disengage from battle in order to cast Mental Change. Thanks guys.

Don't get your hopes up. Mir is way more competent as an AI. This one is very simplistic. But if you do succeed please post and tell us how you did it ^^

Tried the second link. It seems to be missing a user interface or it's meant to be like that. But yeah, I'll stick with MirAI.

stupid question here.... how do you setup for 2 custom AIs? @.@ I have MirAI already (in User_AI), and now I want to test out Aria.... do I go for AnimusRO/AI/User_AI2 or AI2/User_AI or something else?

rename the mirai folder to something else, then rename the aria folder to User_AI
i usually do User_AI_mirai etc. to switch between them and keep track of which is which

To not mess things up I simply made a copy of the AI folder. If I want to use the other AI I'd switch folders. It seemed like the least troublesome solution.
