Title: Possible to play RO?...
Post by: Forgotten Experiment on December 11, 2011, 08:06:12 pm
Transfer my whole RO folder to my External Hard Drive, a 500GB SeaGate that connects with USB. Will it be possible for me to open it at school, then play?... I have a personal computer at school I use for Motion Graphics and architectural design... Just wondering if anyone does this, before I try =o

Yup I did it sometimes, just make sure you got a nice fast transfer rate as doing simple things like the ALT + "key" commands can sometimes lag you slightly.
I did it on an old laptop on a datastick to test it, and yeah, any ALT + commands gave me a second of lag. O_o

I did that, but it wasnt as fun as I thought. Instead, when I wanna play at school, I just transfer the files on the computer.

Ill probably do that then~ Thanks :)
Don't forget to run "opensetup.exe" to set the resolution. Else itle be borked.
Lol, when opening the AnimusRO Shortcut, it kept opening the old setup. After that, not being able to close it.
Yeah, you have to hit ctrl+alt+del for that. Like i said, you have to set it using opensetup.exe. Well... thats what I do.
Even hitting CTRL ALD DLT didn't work. I had to plug off my External Hard Drive, then it would warn to install some Windows Program or something. So I just restarted the computer.

If the setup keeps popping up when trying to start the game, then you do not have enough privileges to change the Windows registry. Unfortunately, the client reads those settings (resolution, etc.) from the registry, so neither opensetup.exe nor setup.exe can fix this problem as they're unable to write any values into the registry.
So if you want to be able to play, you must have administrator access to the computer, or it's not possible to do so. I know this means that you might not be able to play while at school. Maybe there's a program to fake the registry that I am not aware of, but without such a thing, not possible.
