Title: About adding slots
Post by: ming on October 31, 2011, 09:41:11 am
I've realize that we are able to add slots to the following books

Book of Mother Earth
Book of Billows
Book of Gust of Wind

but no on Book of Blazing Sun

I'm just wondering if we are able to add slots to Book of Blazing Sun with a different NPC or did the GM leave out that book for some reason?

it means that if where allowed slot that book, you could obtain  prof sqi instead of the slotted version of blazing... :police:

Just wondering, why do u need those elemental books? Sage proff has endows, for a SG doesnt matter since they too have warm wind. So any element wont matter right?

YEa but he's just saying it doesn't matter if you can use Blazing [3] because the others can also have any element with warm wind/endows.

+5 I believe Elemental [3] = +10 Book (3).
Level 2 Weapons arent supposed to have Random bonuses - If they exist .

And Elemental Books are also level 3. They are supposed to have random bonuses past +8 Theoretically.

SanRath is the only 1 understand my question...

eg - using a ice katar[3] with wind endow give u chance to freeze n weapon element is wind.
eg2 - using fire katar[3] with X endow give u chance to silence with X element

but why on earth you need a fire book [3]?

edit - unless ofcourse ming happen to have f-lots of fire book n he wants to turn it into fire book [3].

It's not that one needs the Fire Book [3]. Ming simply just wanted to know why the GMs decided to leave it out of the list of slottable items, considering the other 3 books are able to have slots. Which was answered in the topic. The Book of Blazing Sun [3] shares the same Item ID as the Tome of Ymir SQI. Which means if the GMs currently implemented the Book of Blazing Sun to be slotted, you would get a Tome (not the actual Tome, but the Fire Book's script would be the same as the Tome). This is the same issue as what happened with Drill Katars, they had the same ID as Twin Fang, so Drill Katars were in essence a Twin Fang.

They were released as fancy stuff for melee Sages. Those who were cheap to use elemental ores for endowing. Truth be said they were useless till Gravity decided to give them slots but even after that - people want them for more attack and not element.

Maybe if you're making a +10 elemental book you want to use all materials you have available.
a +10 lv 3 weapon with 90 ATK would be nicer than a +10 lv2 weapon with 85 atk for sure.

As you (probably) know every +1 on a lv 3 weapon gives more ATK than a +1 on a lv 2 weapon

Anyway yes talis said he was going to fix the fire one but he never said when so who knows.
