Title: The TeamSpeak Guide
Post by: Astatine on January 21, 2008, 10:37:09 pm
TeamSpeak is an application that allows players to converse with each other over the Internet. Remarkably useful during the War of Emperium and party activities due to its ability to enable fast communication between users, Teamspeak also provides them with a great way of meeting new people and familiarizing themselves with the aRO community. This program is free and easy to use, so why not give it a try?

The AnthemRO TeamSpeak Guide

Please remember to read the TS rules first: AnthemRO TeamSpeak Rules (http://www.anthemro.com/forums/index.php/topic,17.0.html)

1. To download, go to http://www.goteamspeak.com/?page=downloads (http://www.goteamspeak.com/?page=downloads) and select the download link that is compatible with your system.

2. After installing and opening TeamSpeak, you will see something like this:

Go to Connection --> Connect.

3. Right click on "Servers" and select "Add Server". Type in a name such as "AnthemRO".

4. Proceed by typing out the following information:

You may leave the remaining fields blank and click on "Connect".

You will connect to the AnthemRO TeamSpeak server as an anonymous user and you will need to wait for a server administrator who will grant you registration rights.

5. When you do receive those rights, go to "Self" and select "Register with Server". Type in your desired username and password.

6. You will also need to change your sound input method. Go to "Settings" --> "Sound Input/Output Settings"

Select "Push to Talk" and click on "Set". You will be asked to enter a key which will act as your talk button.

7. To join a channel, right click and select "Switch to Channel".

8. The next time you log onto the TS server, select "Registered" instead of "Anonymous" in the "Connect to Server" window and type in the username and password you chose.

Why not merge the two topics, creating, "The Teampseak and IRC Guide"?

Seems a lot better :<

No matter how many times I go in teamspeak, there is never a GM in there.  How are you suppose to get registered?

If you are the guild leader, you can PM any TeamSpeak Server Administrator and request for one.

To register, an SA will need to grant you registration rights. Have you tried logging into TeamSpeak during WoE? The GMs are usually online at that time.

Your firewall is probably blocking TeamSpeak. See if you can add this program to the Exception List.

You will be able to join a channel once your login name has been registered.
To obtain an (R), you will need to receive registration rights from a Server Administrator and follow the registration steps mentioned in the first post.
