It does not seem to be related to the server, though. Not everyone is experiencing lag and login issues.

It sure seemed server related to me since no other site or server during the same time caused me any problems whatsoever.   ???

You don't seem to understand what I meant:

If 90% of the players experience lag issues, but 10% can login and play just fine, it's very unlikely that it's due to the server. It's more like, it has to do with the connection between you and the server. People using different internet service providers connect differently to the server. Maybe some connection is damaged or too busy to handle requests, so if 90% of the players' ISPs are using this connection to connect to the server, they'll experience lag, but the 10% who are using a different connection, are able to play flawlessly.

The server is working fine, and for me (I am from Germany), both forums and game are working without lags or DCs or anything. If it was server related, EVERYONE would be experiencing the lag issues. It seems to mostly affect American players, though, and as the majority of the players are from the states, well, there you go.

That means: There's not much I can do right now. Let's just wait to see if it gets better after a while or tomorrow or so.

Using that same logic is how I determined that I wasn't having any connection problem, because it was ONLY on here and nowhere else.   When I have connection problems it will not connect to anything, so this was very odd. We'll see how it goes throughout the day.

As I said, it's not your connection to the internet. It might be some connection in between you and the server, and not every internet traffic goes through that connection. Not every internet site you visit is hosted by the same ISP as the server, that's what I was trying to say.

Yeah it seemed to go away as fast as it came, weird.  Pings do not timeout anymore and everything seems normal now.

*edit* I did a tracert and see that between my ISP, Comcast; and iWeb in Canada, is Level3 in Chicago so likely the problem was within their network at the time.  Will repeat during a problem to see if it poops out there. /ok
