Got me one then. Might use it when I having fun in Geffen .
@Fidelis - Here is an instant Ad shop idea - More custom headgear cards that make stuff drop. People will use them like hotcakes. Remember they have to sacrifice myst case for the new card . This will give people something fun and new to try without breaking the servers economy.

While we're on the topic of suggesting stuff for the hats, can we get accurate info on the item before we buy it? (I'm tired of scanning RMS constantly)
i.e. Torch Cap says it Enables use of lvl 5 Fireball: it actually Enables use of lvl 5 Firebolt. i.e.2. Raven Cap says that "it is so black:" it's not that black D:
I don't mind if you leave the original description, but could you at least leave a comment saying if it actually does something different? =O

They should set up a test server(with identical to aRO settings) for us with all these hats on 1 Z NPC for us to test. That way we can find accurate information for them. The staff could use this as a testing ground before implementing potentially dangerous events or items.

They should have done that way back in the beta test server for eAthena, but nooo, we had to keep asking the GMs for headgears/gears to test. =_=

Would be nice to test that new garment everyone's making a fuss about. It'd be a good chance for me to test out an SQI too.'
Edit: And the beerhat. @______@

Public test servers are generally a bad idea, as people seem to stop going to the main server, and just use the test server to mess around, as seen in the past. Maybe a closed tester team as we had some time ago, that's something I could agree with.

I suppose they got hooked with the higher exp. But yea the items can make people addicted to them specially stuff like non ad shop MVP cards.

Guys, that was just a suggestion. Maybe Talis or Haine are against it, and it's up to us who to invite to the beta anyway, there would be no recruiting or anything, we would PM the persons we'd see fit for participating in the beta.

How did it end?
Well it ended quite badly once 1 particular player found out about it they Posted a thread revealing all the testers sadly it's quite difficult to trust anyone with the right intentions >.>;

That's only half of it.
2 Different guilds who were testing were constantly accusing us of favoring the other guild. Both of them were accusing us of this - simultaneously. For no reason other than the fact that they are not being favored ( herp derp if they are not favoring us, they must be favoring THEM ! ).
Needless to say things spiraled out of control and everything just ended up being dumb.
And when we had a public test server, people were spending 99% of their time in PVP using 99/70 trans they made in 1 hour and SQI's they bought from the NPC. After they had their PVP fill for a few hours they quit on both main and test cause they "unlocked all secrets" which "destroyed their motivation to actually have to WORK for shit".
I'd love it if test server's worked but it seems they don't so bah. Sucks.

Which is why you should never invite people where too much drama lingers around them. Which is mainly those two 'parties' your leading to.
Should have kept it aimed at less people, with less biased opinions, and with a much shorter friend list. Since leaked information is practically an obvious issue, when you bring in big 'close relation guilds' like those. Only a matter of moments until their entire guild/friends/ect know the specs or idea of everything being tested.
Plus you tend to get the people that just like to do it for the mere 'flaunt' aspect. To say 'HEY! Lookie what I was a part of!'; when they practically contributed nothing, aside from simply wanting to push the limits of what they could get added to an item, for selfish gains afterwards. (See Fenrir) I recall certain individuals would spend godly hours in DG just easy-mode farming when they were supposed to be actually testing in multiple environments and playing styles. Turned out to be a get rich quick scheme instead. Also you would just see them in PvP for godly hours as well, trying to flaunt their ridiculous damage and the fact they were chosen to test, to all their buddies.
I don't mind either to a degree, so long as the sole purpose of testing is in mind. The thing that bothers me is when you get the numbers, move on to another thing. Don't just linger there (money maps/PvP) for selfish reasons.
Ask Shro, and you'll get an idea of what testing should really be like.
Anyway, this is why testing will continue to prove to be a complete waste of time, unless extremely specific people are targeted or just do it as a GM only thing. Let the chips fall as they may, and afterwards make the tweaks.

Well u could make it public for a month or so. It's not like it's gonna go crazy. If not that then just invite players that will acually "test" the things not just mess around. I myself wanna test a few things like DBT Mjol. If it works, i might uncard my mjol and switch out my sam card to a tg card.

Must be vets or players you are sure wont quit the server. Since Vets have already reached the game end - its unlikely they will quit.

Thats exactly what a test server is totally not about.
A test server is not to test wich builds suits you best (this was the big mistake made in the Rachel episode test)
You're on a test server to test the incoming new content, not what already exists. That's what official Sakrays tests server exist for. If there was a change in something that is already existing then go ahead, but if you're there to tests builds for your own convenience, then you shouldn't be there.. =/

Off-Topic Again:
It's to check out new Maps and Bugs as well as see if any new items added are any game changers or break the game in some way...
Something a tester would currently test would be a Nydhorgg's Shadow Garb [1]
They'd go on the Test Server and see how the Garment would fair in the 3 aspects of the game PvM,PvP and WoE then help the GMs decide what to do with the garment whether to implement as is or customize to fit our Server...
A TEST SERVER IS NOT FOR YOUR PERSONAL GAIN BUT FOR THE GAIN OF THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.
Even more Off-Topic:
Anyone on the forums could have told you that anything with a Bapho doesn't work with Turtle and is a useless Carding DBS Mjol is the only carding with a Bapho.
