i use Tirfing card for medium sized monsters Teddy Bear is also good for undeads but most common there are Disguise(i think its medium) and dullahans which are medium sized monsters.
there's also HODREMLIN card which is very good there which deducts damage from all sized monsters ;p

• Teddy bear -30% damage taken from undead monsters = against Dullahan (http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7209.png)(higest dmg in Niff), Quve (http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7220.png)(Lowest dmg)
• Tirfing -25% damage taken from medium-size monsters, Def+1 = against Dullahan(http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7209.png), Disguise(http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7216.png) (low damage)
• Khalitzberg -30% damage taken from demon monsters = against Gibbet(http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7222.png) (mediocre dmg), Disguise(http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7216.png) , and Hylozoist (http://db.irowiki.org/image/item/7217.png)(low dmg)
• Hodremlin -15% damage reduction and a low chance to proc 20 perfectdodge

Use Teddy Bear shield when..
- you're ready to finish your mob
- you have more than 2 Dullahan following you.
- you think you're tough enough to take Dullahan's shadow property attack (given you don't have Evil Druid/Bathory armor)

Use Tirfing shield if..
- you're okay with spamming extra healing items
- you have more than 60 Def (At which point you can make up for the 5% reduction difference)

Use Khalitzberg shield if you have low budget.

Use Hodremlin shield when you're gathering a large mob, have soul ring equipped. Not recommended.

I like Tirfing over Teddy Bear, never have used Hodremlin. Reason why I like it is due to the fact that Disguise (size Medium) is going to be making up the largest portion of your mob. Even though they do lower damage, the sheer number of monsters in the mob is going to reduce your defense a lot, so you're going to want as much reduction as possible. Dullahan (also Medium) make up a larger portion of the mob as well, and they also deal the highest amount of damage, which once again you want to have as much reduction as you can.

I've used Hodremlin + Soul Ring pretty successfully in Niff. The perfect dodge procs 90% of the time with a 20+ mob. I'd still recommend a tirfing card though.

what about a +7 platinum sheild? would that be better than tirfing in niff?
