Title: 'Best' SQI for SN?
Post by: Papercut the Madhatter on June 15, 2011, 11:30:52 pm
I wanna be able to switch to Melee or Magick when I want. not really hybrid, I don't mind changing stats and skills every-so-often. But I want an SQI that can hit hard, and affect my magick output. I know about the Slinger's SQI already. Djinn, Mjinor, Evang... I don't know if there's another. xD

Yea SoM and Mjol are probably the best for whacking things. SoM has demi def pierce so its pretty useful.

Mjol or Evang?

Mjol cause the dex basically means you can be a melee caster most of the time. It's good for attacking because of the LoD, and if you're a true hybrid then you'll have plenty of intelligence to work with for the damage it does. Or evangelist because it has good attack and the int helps your casting, not to mention the dex. The other abilities are used good too.

I got both. But if I were to choose. I would probably pick Evangelist over Mjolnir because of the INT and the skills you get (Frost Nova, Cold Bolt [frees up 10 Skill Points] + Waterball because I got DDDrake).

Yeah that'd be the better choice if you're more of a caster. Others go for bash and mammonite with mjol for a melee oriented build.

Is there a reason why all those other sqi can be used by SN?

Perhaps. But either way. He won't wrong with either of the two.
All four weapons are good for smacking. But also, depending on the situation. But personally..
Staff of Magi Evangelist Mjolnir Djinn
I didn't realize that Staff of Magi had +15% MATK on top of +20 INT. Obviously I'm leaning more towards on caster build due to the ability to do damage from mid range. They are quite squishy unless you pick up SN specific or universal gears like Guard [1], Hood, Sandals [1] with the right carding. They do have one of if not the best Neutral/Element reduction potential in-game. But their HP/SP is still abysmal compared to most classes.
Is there a reason why all those other sqi can be used by SN?
Because they are level 4 weapons.

Soullinks to Super Novices, giving them special buffs for the skill's duration. - Super Novices above LV 90 will be temporarily able to equip ALL Upper/Middle/Lower headgears. - Super Novices above LV 90 have 1% chance to 'erase' the death record - which means, the last 1% EXP loss will be recovered. - Super Novices above LV 96 will be temporarily able to equip LV 4 Daggers, 1H Swords, Axes, Maces, and Staffs.
Note 1: This skill is said to have 1% chance to clear the death record of a super novice. Note 2: Items equipped while the skill is active will not be automatically taken off after the skill duration.

Yeah, and they can use Vesper Optics because they can equip any headgears with the link. They have good HP among the NT classes, not so much the trans classes. As for their sp....lol.....and really notorious for their elemental reduction like Break said.

Well, dang... I was hoping with the Djinn or Kjol's +40dex bonus, and with a kaho and SN buffs + link, I wouldn't really need any dex.. Which would leave a lot to add into Str and Agi for melee, and Int for cast. Melee may not be the best, but it's kinda fun, which is what this character is all about.

I think the SN guide said you can achieve IC w/ 2 base dex w/ endgame crap, so its very possible to have a hybrid build :x

^ This.
With megs a melee SN is brutal, mammo and bash destroy lol. I find it hard to believe that they can attain such high resistance and the ability to be a full threat..but it's true. As for PvM well...it's even more so. High versatility and adaptability makes SN one of the funnest classes. It was originally made just for fun but it goes well beyond that, from what I see anyway.
