Title: Carat Card
Post by: BreakTheSilence on June 14, 2011, 11:37:08 am
Does anyone have it slotted on a headgear? Do you have to have the item refined to +9/10 like the description on RMS? [link] (http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=item_db&item_id=4288) Or the +9/10 isn't required like what the description says in-game? Just trying to make sure since some of the descriptions we have on items aren't exactly accurate. >.>

It needs to be +9 or higher.

also learning to read the scripts can help you avoid bad descriptions :x

If that is the case, this is a terrible card then. It's senseless to have a +9 headgear just to get 150 SP. There goes my plan to have this as an everyday midgear card for my Super Novice. :(

It USED to work like you think it does, but then it was changed, even though they didn't change the description along with it.
I think it should be returned to how it was before, personally.

Reading the scripts doesn't necessarily help either in some cases. We got custom cards and we don't have the scripts database of those. Unless it's possible to be dug through the .grf file and someone is bored enough to compile them. :(

Carat isn't a custom card though ~_~ and reading scripts of non-custom cards was implied

The problem was that it worked as the card described before we switched to eAthena, and most other changes like that were reverted to how they were before. It may as well have been a custom card, since obviously the script wasn't taking the refinement into account then.

not enough people QQd then =/

Well it wasn't a very oft used card, but obviously someone's trying to use it now.
Why should it matter how many people complain? The standard is (as far as I can tell), if something was a specific way before the switched to eAthena, and it is reported, it will be changed back to how it was. The number of people who report it shouldn't matter. To be fair, it was also mentioned by someone earlier, but it didn't get any attention and died out.

Well yes, then the OP should send a support ticket now that the reasoning is known. The reason cards like Doppel and Sasquatch didn't get "updated" to their current nerfed versions is because people use it all the time and GMs know of the change, and therefore force it to be pre-eA settings. When I say not enough QQ, I mean this guy and ONE other person mentioned it (on forums?), forums is not a reliable way to get a bug fix through unless it was posted in reports. Even then I would still send a support ticket rather than getting it burried by all the other reports coming in. Obviously it wasn't a big issue to the general population so GMs didn't pay as much attention to it, and may have forgotten it.
