Title: Does these skill stack?
Post by: Maryline` on May 11, 2011, 10:58:23 am
If we use auto guard and parrying at the same time, does it stack? or is there another calculation to this..

Am I reading this right?

You can't use a shield with parry?

I'm pretty sure once you swap off a shield you lose your auto guard so I'd say they don't stack. I also think parrying would cancel once you take off a two handed weapon.

Interesting notion but that's like saying can my spear quicken stack with my auto two handed sword quicken.

Would it proc even though you lacked shield? Just like asking would the spear proc a buff for a completely different weapon. . .

Oh well, I've never tested it.

Not true. It stays even if you switch to another shield.

I apologize for not being more clear. When I said swap off I meant taking off a shield completely with no replacement.

Ok let's clear this up. First of all Auto Guard requires a shield and parrying requires a two handed sword. I haven't tested clock card without a shield on to see if it still proc'ed. But I know that if you use clock card to proc auto guard you will HAVE to keep clock carded armors on. Which means your either always using a slotted elemental armor of some kind, or your losing out on elemental/armor carding bonuses.

Or the more usable case of paladin devotioning lord knight to give him auto guard.  Haven't tested personally but my guess they will just proc at similiar times giving them a total overal proc rate of 65%.

Somehow this situation slipped my mind. I can test this and will edit when I get a answer. (Last time I remember I was able to devo a target that didn't have a shield and the effects carried over. Either that or it had a shield at first then I took it off and shield effects stayed.)

Auto guard stays regardless of how the person you devotion gear swaps.
