Title: Does AnimusRO contain a potential Trojan? o_o
Post by: FallenAngelInFlames on April 17, 2011, 06:54:38 pm
I run my antivirus and antispyware programs, but upon uninstalling, and then reinstalling AnimusRO to my laptop, my AVG scanner prevents Animus from being completed, due to the fact that the Animus Application, it stated, contained a Trojan.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and if there was any way to override it?
I never had this problem before, either. I downloaded the AnimusRO files directly from the AnimusRO website, so it shouldn't have been an untrusted site. o_o

Just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this occur to them, either?

AVG
Found your problem.

AnimusRO has no trojan or malware of any kind. Unless your internet connection got hijacked and a trojan came along for the ride.
If you want to be sure, get and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

UNLESS GM CONSPIRACY.

I have MalwareBytes, and that thing works wonders for me.
AVG is the problem? o_o
And, also, I've been having a Win 7 Antispyware problem recently, keeps trying to get onto my laptop, but I remove the threat every chance I get.

I need to get my laptop rebooted completely =/

Thanks for that, Linmakana. ^^

No. Unless you got the installer somewhere else other than the site itself. Or more than likely, It's a false positive.

UNLESS GM CONSPIRACY.

/gg

But no, there's no viruses. There are a few anti-virus programs that, for whatever reason, will read particular files as dangerous.

XDDD Thanks, Haine. =3 I just wanted to be sure. I mean, I have to get my entire system rebooted to when it was brand new. =/ And then I'll BUY the antivirus/antispyware software. Free's good, but... I dunno... I think I want to be COMPLETELY sure with my protection. XD

What would anyone recommend that's DEFINITELY good?

I just want to get rid of all these Trojans that manage to get into my computer, even WITH the protection I have now. =/

Oh man, we both apparently fail at quoting. :( Though I think your fail was because of my fail.

I personally really like Avast! you can get it for free. :) I like free. (You can also pay for different versions)

Norton antivirus.

The free version of that was my life when I started up my laptop for the 30 day trial. =3

I just have to buy the full version now.

I'm using AVG and MalwareBytes, but I might get rid of them after a while and use Norton once I buy the full package.
Thanks for your help, guys.

I'm having trouble with all these Antispyware things that keep popping up every couple of days or so. =/

ahhh the ones that try and get your credit card info? saying they are anti virus and that you are infected? I use to get those all the time from streaming sights. I avoid them now and ive been fine ever since. What sites have you been on lately?

Also if you google the name of the "program" that is poping up you should find a way of removing it manually.

AVG has never given me problems. I never shut the thing down like almost all programs tell you to do. So I can personally say that AVG isn't the problem (at least for me  ;D )

Avast > AVG in terms of free AV software.

Avast+ThreatFire+MBAM=Virtually impenetrable free security.

Dudes, no fighting over Antivirus/Antispyware/whatnot protection D:

I just needed some advice on what's good to use XD

The second time I installed AnimusRO, AVG never gave me a warning or anything, so it must have registered it as safe.

One way is getting a new computer, but that would be saved as a last resort.

I think I just had this issue last night. Finding the website I used to help fix it.

Okay it was a different Windows version of the same thing, but I think this page should help. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-antispyware-2011

This thing was a pain to get rid of for me. I also had to go in and delete one file manually and I still can't turn back on my automatic updates for whatever reason. Good luck. x-x

Ahhh, thank you. I'll have to look at that website. It's a safe one, right? I just... want to be entirely sure, I don't want more problems of this laptop D:

Was it REALLY such a pain to get rid of? I THINK I've deleted the problem, but it might still come back D: I'll try the link, though. ^^

EDIT~!!

I've done what that site said. And I haven't really had much of a problem with that since then. But I still run scans every now and then to be sure I'm protected.

Thank you SO much~!
