You can run aRO and a lot of other Windows programs on Linux using WINE (http://www.winehq.org/)

Take a look at this for some instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb1fBabPw-s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb1fBabPw-s)
That should get it running, but if you have an ATI video card it will probably be slow :(

It works moderately well on ATI/AMD video cards with the latest free radeon driver that comes with openSuse 11.4 (and probably other distros as well, but I only tested it on openSuse 11.4). You just have to do as told in the video, and additionally, check the "Able to catch mouse pointer in window" or however it's called, the first option that you can check on the "Graphics" tab in winecfg.
The only thing I encountered, no idea if it's because of openSuse 11.4 or something else, is that I can't press "Return" to send a chat. The key works, but I'm unable to chat. :(

that is exactly my problem, even when i used virtual keyboard, it wasnt recognized "enter" command.
former difficulty of mine is running animusro.exe, i need to run it from terminal to know which .DLL file that needed. im using ubuntu, and installed wine from ubuntu packet file, i think it wasnt complete. i think the completed wine source file should be downloaded from wines web.

Well, it worked for me when I used openSuse's packet manager (zypper) to download wine. I just had to copy my AnimusRO folder to my home folder on the linux drive, and I didn't get any DLL errors.
As for the "Return" problem: Press ALT+M for the shortcut list, change the ALT+1 shortcut to whatever you want to say, press ALT+M again to close the shortcut list, press ALT+1 to chat. :D Complicated, but it works. :P
