Title: User Account Control on Windows Vista
Post by: Pyro on March 30, 2011, 07:15:15 am
First of all, please, none of that "you're using Vista" crap as the "answer/problem found" to my question.  I've had enough of that from friends.

How do I get Vista to allow me to launch RO without it asking me if I want to allow the program to make changes, blah blah blah?  I know I can turn UAC off entirely, but I'd like to have it on, just in case.  I just...want to know if there's a way I can tell it to allow certain programs all the time, instead of just hitting "yes" every time I want to open the client.  It gets increasingly annoying when I try to open multiple clients (or when I'm constantly opening/closing clients for whatever reason).

I already have RO set to "Run as Administrator" but other than that, I'm out of ideas.  =/

Argh, right before I could hit "Post", Talis took down the website. Here's what I wanted to post:

Basically, you have to download a tool and change a few settings. I haven't tested it, not using Vista anymore.

Talis knew you going to post useful info. So he decided to pull it, so you would have to come up with some sort of excuse as to why you didn't post earlier :P

@ Bagel-kun:  That's what I'm afraid of.  =/

@ Fidelis:  Hmm...sounds good.  I'll have to give that a shot when I'm a little more awake and able to follow directions better.  XP  Thanks for posting.  =)

@ shadowfaux:  Lol, I know, right?  I should've known better than to post this right when I knew he was going to be taking the site down in mere hours.  I've been driven nuts by this for a while.

I know how to do this I just need to remember how I did it. I had to turn UAC off so I could dual client.
