Title: Has upgrading weapons become nerf?
Post by: Karahchi on January 29, 2011, 10:44:36 pm
I have a WS with job lvl 64, max dex and luk. I had 20+ mace [4] and tried upgrading them to +10. Not a single one made it to +10. The highest was a +9.

Can a GM confirm if upgrading has been nerfed after the switch? Thanks!

I thought you needed to be 99/70 to get the bonus.

DEX and LUK will not help you in upgrading. If you want GM to make a check then sending a ticket asking them that is much more faster. Nevertheless 20 isn't that much.

The bonus scales with job level, just like the Pharmacy skill for Alchemists. The skill description just isn't that effective in explaining that sadly. I sitll recommend going jl70 first before upgrading anyway.

And yes, DEX & LUK will NOT help you with upgrading.

That said, there are other threads that have mentioned how bad the upgrading rates appear to be compared to before. Makes me wonder really.

You're just having a bad day and its normal!... not all job 70 WS can successfully make +10 level 1 weapon all the time. Its still depends in your real life luck.

if look you at the skill description at WS about refining, it says job 70 has much higher probability of overupgrading weapons and such.

Well yes, compared to jl50 anyway. And let's not talk about anything below that >.>a

The gradual table can be seen here by the way: http://irowiki.org/wiki/Weapon_Refine

Dude i think it has been nerf ed a bit
Cause i've been having the same problem, and 20+ maces is a lot to not get a +10 mace

Agreed, they were nerfed or something iffy is going on.
