I haven't recently edited my grf and my client worked yesterday so Idk what the real problem could be  ???

Is this a brand new issue that you've never had before?  As in you played RO on your laptop like, the day before or something?

Between the time you last played on your laptop and it worked, and the time it crashed, did you dl or install anything new?  Or a new update?

Try checking your soundcard/video drivers, or go to set up and disable sounds, see if that helps

Try lowering the resolution, no fullscreen, 640x480. Run setup.exe as an administrator when using Vista or 7! If it still doesn't work, make sure all GRF files are in your AnimusRO folder: abdata.grf, rdata.grf, and sdata.grf. And the data.ini should contain:
Code: [Select]
[data]
0=abdata.grf
1=rdata.grf
2=sdata.grf

Maybe you accidentally removed or renamed one of those files yesterday.

I'm pretty sure I haven't touched my GRFs nor my Data file recently but I have changed the resolution and changed it from windowed to Full Screen. But I didn't think that would be the problem because I ran the game right after the change and it worked smoothly. But I'll try changing it back to windowed to see it that changes anything as change the resolution  ???

Tried the usual stuff with disabling the user account control, right clicking on animuspatch.exe and then on "Run as administrator..." and so on already ???

Maybe the problem gets solved by reinstalling the conversion installer ??? Or if you wait another 6 minutes, I can give you the link to my own small installer ???

Well it's not really a problem I think since I'm pretty sure it can patch but it won't open the game through. I just don't see what could have happened in like a day or so to change it Q_Q But I guess I

Try installing the mini setup to a new folder, and then copy your sdata.grf, your BGM folder, and your rdata.grf from the old folder into the new one, and see if it works.

So to clarify, patcher->game client doesn't work, but launching game client directly does?
If that's the case, are you running your patcher through a shortcut or directly from your RO folder? If you are, the "Start in" setting might be set to something other than your RO folder. That would be the only reason I can think of right now. It's also a pretty slim chance.  :-\

If it's not the case, I guess checking up on your system files wouldn't be too bad. If reinstalling your device drivers didn't work, you could try reinstalling DirectX. I've seen one case where that was actually the problem, but if the game runs fine, that shouldn't be it. If you want to try anyway, the link is here:

This whole case just seems really bizarre. I'm pretty sure it's something with Windows and not any RO files, but it's really hard to narrow down since the message that Gravity left in the client is so vague.
